Liverpool reportedly inform Barcelona playmaker Philippe Coutinho that they will not be looking to sign him during the next transfer window.

Liverpool have reportedly rejected the opportunity to sign Barcelona playmaker Philippe Coutinho.

Since leaving Anfield in January 2018, Coutinho has recorded a solid return at Camp Nou and during a loan spell at Bayern Munich.

However, neither club want to have the Brazilian as part of their squad next season, resulting in speculation regarding a return to the Premier League.

While Chelsea appear likely to make an approach for the 27-year-old, Sport claims that Liverpool are against a reunion with one of their former stars.

The report suggests that the Merseyside giants have already informed Coutinho that they will not be involved in the race to secure his signature.

During his previous stint with Liverpool, Coutinho contributed 54 goals from 201 appearances in all competitions.
