Liverpool have reportedly expressed interest in signing 18-year-old Real Betis winger Assane Diao in January, with Mohamed Salah's future at the club still uncertain.
The teenager is said to be highly rated, and his performances for the Spanish La Liga side this season have already attracted the attention of several clubs across Europe.
After arriving at Real Betis in the summer of 2021, Diao initially joined the club's youth ranks but progressed rapidly and has now already made four appearances for the first team and scored three goals this season.
As reported by Fichajes, Liverpool are interested in acquiring the services of Diao and would be willing to shell out the player's full release clause, which is believed to be in the region of £26m.

The report adds that the uncertainty surrounding the future of Salah might force Liverpool to consider recruiting a new winger after the club rejected a £150m bid from Saudi side Al-Ittihad during the summer transfer window.
However, despite fending off the PIF-owned club during the transfer season, there is still an expectation that the Saudi Pro League team will return with an improved offer for the Egyptian next year.
Diao's current contract runs until the summer of 2027, and while Los Verdiblancos will likely try their best to retain his services, they may find it difficult to do so if potential suitors agree to trigger the standing release clause.
Liverpool played out a 2-2 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion before the international break, with Salah scoring both goals in the match at the American Express Stadium.
