Liverpool to make Mohamed Salah Premier League's best-paid player?

Liverpool prepare a contract offer which would make Mohamed Salah the best-paid player in the Premier League, according to a report.

Liverpool are reportedly preparing to offer Mohamed Salah a new contract which would make the Egypt international the best-paid player in the Premier League.

The 27-year-old has been a revelation since joining the Reds from Roma in 2017, scoring 71 times in 104 appearances for the English giants, who won the Champions League last season.

Salah only signed a contract extension with the Reds last summer and has a deal at Anfield until 2023.

However, according to reports in Spain, Liverpool are preparing a new offer which would run until June 2024 and see the attacker pick up £22.4m a year in wages, making him the best-paid player in English football.

Barcelona and Real Madrid have both been linked with moves for the Egyptian, who has struck 54 goals in 74 Premier League appearances for Jurgen Klopp's side.

Salah is yet to join up with his teammates for pre-season following his involvement in the Africa Cup of Nations. However, the attacker is expected to link up with the squad following their return from the United States.
