Lyon midfielder Clement Grenier has withdrawn from the France squad ahead of their upcoming World Cup qualifying matches.
The 22-year-old suffered a hamstring injury during their Champions League qualifying defeat to Real Sociedad on Wednesday, and missed Les Gones' loss to Evian TG on Saturday.
Despite being called up to the national team, Grenier hasn't recovered in time to face Georgia and Belarus.
"He came to the national team get-together at Clairefontaine insufficiently recovered from a muscle lesion of the left hamstring sustained during the return leg against Real Sociedad," a statement from the French Football Federation read.
"The clinical examinations carried out on Monday established that the player is not in a state to prepare for the upcoming international encounters in satisfactory conditions, and after exchanges between the Lyon and France medical staff, Didier Deschamps has decided to make the player available to his club."
Second-placed France are a point behind leaders Spain in Group I and face the group's bottom two sides within the next week.
