Raheem Sterling will only put pen to paper on a new contract with Manchester City if his hefty wage demands are met, according to a report.

Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling is reportedly holding out for a pay increase of £100,000 a week before committing his future to the club.

The England international, who currently earns around £175,000 a week, is locked in talks with City chiefs over a new long-term contract.

According to The Times, the 23-year-old has made his half of the bargain known as he wants to earn the same as the Citizens' best-paid player Kevin De Bruyne.

City are said to be wary of Financial Fair Play rules, though, and will therefore heavily incentivise any deal, with image rights, bonuses and a signing-on fee being spread across the duration of the contract.

Should he put pen to paper, Sterling will become the latest in a long line of City players to agree terms in recent times, joining David Silva, Fernandinho, Gabriel Jesus and Ederson in doing so.
