Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck takes part in England's training session today but Liverpool's Glen Johnson fails to continue due to an infected toe.

Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck has returned to training for England today while Liverpool full-back Glen Johnson was forced to retire from the session with an infected toe.

The duo missed out on Roy Hodgson's first session with the Three Lions squad yesterday as a precautionary measure.

While Welbeck was fit enough to take part at the Etihad Stadium this morning, Johnson left the pitch with a member of the backroom staff after completing the warm-up.

Meanwhile, Scott Parker was also included in training following initial fears that the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder was struggling with an Achilles injury.
