Manchester United injury and suspension list vs. Liverpool

Sports Mole rounds up the latest injury and suspension news for Manchester United ahead of their Premier League meeting with arch-rivals Liverpool.

Manchester United will be aiming to maintain their impressive form under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and dent Liverpool's title hopes when they welcome their bitter rivals to Old Trafford on Sunday.

The Red Devils eased to a 2-0 win over Chelsea in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Monday night to make it 11 victories and a draw in 13 matches since Solskjaer replaced Jose Mourinho.

As well as competing for silverware in the domestic cup and Champions League, United are also battling for a top-four spot in the Premier League.

Back-to-back away wins, over Leicester City and Fulham, has left Solskjaer's men fourth in the table and with their destiny in their own hands.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the visit of Liverpool this weekend.

MAN UNITED'S INJURY LIST

Jesse Lingard

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: March 24

Lingard limped off during the first half of last week's defeat to Paris Saint-Germain and was initially expected to miss up to three weeks. However, Solskjaer is hopeful that the Englishman could make a swift return to action and be involved as a sub against Liverpool.

Anthony Martial

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: March 24

French winger Martial also left the field early against PSG and, like Lingard, may be rushed back before the end of the month. A place on the bench against Liverpool is a possibility.

Marcos Rojo

Status: Slight doubt
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: February 24

Having missed the majority of the season through injury, Rojo is finally back on the training ground and has an outside chance of being included in the squad to face Liverpool.

Antonio Valencia

Status: Slight doubt
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: February 24

Valencia is nearing a return having not featured since January 2. A setback in training further delayed his comeback, but he should now be fit to provide some competition at right-back.

Matteo Darmian

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: February 24

Another player that has struggled with injuries for large parts of the campaign, Darmian will be given a chance to prove his fitness ahead of Liverpool's visit to Old Trafford on Sunday.

MAN UNITED SUSPENSION LIST

United have no players suspended for this match. Paul Pogba was sent off against PSG, but that suspension only applies to the Champions League.
