Wayne Rooney to return for Manchester United against Newcastle United?

Wayne Rooney is reportedly a consideration for Sir Alex Ferguson for tomorrow's League Cup fixture against Newcastle United following the striker's recovery from a thigh injury.

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney will reportedly feature in the Red Devils' League Cup third-round fixture against Newcastle United tomorrow.

The England international has been out of action for a month since suffering a gash on his thigh in the early stages of this season.

Reports have claimed that the 26-year-old could be given some time on the field after returning to full training this week.

Meanwhile, it has also been reported that midfielder Darren Fletcher, who has been sidelined since last year with a chronic bowel condition, could also get a run-out.
