Ryan Giggs has insisted that new Manchester United teammate Robin van Persie will improve the club's chances of winning back the Premier League crown from local rivals Manchester City.
Giggs said that Van Persie's goals could give United the upper hand should the title be decided on goal difference as it was last season.
"We lost it on goal difference, so hopefully the goals that he's bringing, if it does come down to goal difference, then we'll have the upper hand this time," Sky Sports News quotes Giggs as saying.
"The goals that he's scored, and his performances in general, it's obvious that he's a world-class player."
Van Persie has four goals in two starts for United.
