Javier Hernandez scored a brace as Mexico eased past Serbia in Santiago de Quaretaro.
The Manchester United poacher claimed that he had opened the scoring in the second minute after Carlos Salcido, who is on loan at Mexican club UANL from Fulham, found the far corner with Hernandez insisting he got the slightest glance.
The home side remained one up until two minutes from time when Chicarito was fouled by Manchester rival Aleksander Kolarov, before converting the resulting spot kick. Left-back Kolarov also received a second yellow card for the challenge.
Hernandez and United take on Swansea at the Liberty Stadium in their next Premier League game next Saturday.
