Ian Holloway: 'Referee had a difficult job at Old Trafford'

Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway concedes that referee John Moss faced a difficult task during his side's 2-0 loss to Manchester United earlier today.

Ian Holloway has said that referee John Moss had a difficult job to do at Old Trafford during Crystal Palace's 2-0 loss to Manchester United earlier today.

The visitors were reduced to 10 men just before half time, when Kagisho Dikgacoi was judged to have brought down Ashley Young inside the penalty area.

The Palace manager told BT Sport: "My opinion doesn't count because the result is the result and I have just got to deal with it.

"I literally can't afford it so I can't say a word [about the penalty and sending off] and let everyone else judge it. [The referee] has a difficult job to do though especially at Old Trafford which such a noisy partisan crowd.

"I am very disappointed we lost the game but not in the manner in which we lost it or the way my players behaved and conducted themselves."

Holloway is currently serving a two-match touchline ban for comments about the match officials following the team's loss to Tottenham last month.
