Report: Louis van Gaal to be sacked if Manchester United lose next two games

Manchester United will reportedly sack Louis van Gaal if the team suffer back-to-back defeats against Newcastle United and Liverpool this week.

Manchester United will reportedly sack manager Louis van Gaal if the team lose to Newcastle United and Liverpool this week.

The Red Devils have won just twice in their last 10 games and Van Gaal has come under criticism this season for the team's style of play.

On Saturday, United struggled to a 1-0 win over Sheffield United in the third round of the FA Cup.

While the Glazer family, who own the Premier League club, gave their backing to Van Gaal at Christmas, the Daily Star reports that the Americans have made a U-turn and will part company with the Dutchman if they suffer back-to-back defeats this week.

Despite some reports claiming that United have around £200m to spend in the January transfer window, Van Gaal stated at the weekend that he does not expect much activity.
