Bruno Fernandes insists that he is "happy" at Manchester United amid reports of interest from the Saudi Pro League.

Bruno Fernandes has insisted that he is "happy" at Manchester United during a period where he is being linked with a lucrative move to the Saudi Pro League.

The 29-year-old, who was appointed the new Man United captain over the summer, has proven to be an excellent signing for the Red Devils since his arrival from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020.

Fernandes has 68 goals and 57 assists in 202 appearances for the 20-time English champions, and he is undoubtedly seen as one of the team's most important players.

There has recently been speculation surrounding his future at Old Trafford, with teams from Saudi Arabia said to be keen to sign him next year.

However, a recent report claimed that incoming minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe is determined to keep hold of the Portugal international, viewing him as central to the club's plans moving forward.

Fernandes has admitted that Man United's start to the campaign has been disappointing, with the team already suffering nine defeats in all competitions.

The Red Devils face a huge battle to qualify for the last-16 stage of the Champions League, while they have lost five times in the Premier League this season, with a total of 21 points from 12 games leaving them in sixth position in the table.

However, the attacker has insisted that he is "happy" at Old Trafford, playing down suggestions that he could be on the move next year.

"I'm focusing on the national team and United. I'm happy where I am," Fernandes told Sport TV Portugal while away on international duty.

"In the national team, we had some very good times, at Manchester United we didn't start the way we wanted. I don't look at rumours. I don't pay attention to them.

"Today, it's very easy to spread rumours in the press. I prefer to concentrate on my goals."

Despite Man United's issues this term, they have won four of their last five in the league, including a 1-0 success over Luton Town last weekend.

Erik ten Hag's side are only five points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur and will be aiming to make it three league wins in a row when they head to Everton after the international break.

Man United then have a must-win contest against Galatasaray in the Champions League on November 29, before returning to Premier League action away to Newcastle United on December 2.
