Manchester United are reportedly considering offering David de Gea a testimonial to recognise his contribution to the club as part of his potential new deal at Old Trafford.
The Spaniard's contract with the Red Devils is due to expire at the end of next month, but he is widely expected to sign a new deal with the 20-time English champions in the near future.
De Gea wants to stay, and Man United are keen to keep him, but there is believed to be an issue when it comes to the goalkeeper's salary at Old Trafford.
The 32-year-old is currently the highest earner at the club, picking up £375,000 a week, but the Red Devils want him to take a huge pay cut in order to pen a new contract.
According to The Sun, Erik ten Hag's side want the Spaniard to drop his salary by almost 50%, which has seen negotiations between the two parties stall.

The report claims that Man United could offer De Gea a testimonial as part of the new contract, with an agreement potentially being reached before the end of the campaign.
The former Atletico Madrid youngster, who moved to the Red Devils in 2011, has made some high-profile mistakes this season, notably against Sevilla in the Europa League and West Ham United in the Premier League.
However, De Gea has won the Premier League Golden Glove for the 2022-23 campaign, keeping 17 clean sheets in England's top flight.
The Spaniard will have the chance to end the season with 19 shutouts in the Premier League, as Ten Hag's side prepare to take on Chelsea and Fulham in their final two matches of the campaign.

Man United's 1-0 win over Bournemouth on Saturday, coupled with Liverpool's 1-1 draw at Aston Villa, has left the Red Devils on the brink of qualifying for next season's Champions League.
The 20-time English champions are fourth in the table, three points clear of fifth-placed Liverpool with a game in hand, meaning that they need just one point from their last two games to be sure of a spot in the top four.
There could be big changes in the goalkeeping department this summer, as Tom Heaton is out of contract at the end of June, while Jack Butland is set to return to parent club Crystal Palace following a loan spell.
However, a recent report claimed that Man United want to sign Butland on a permanent basis this summer, as he will be available on a free transfer.
Dean Henderson is set to return to Old Trafford following a loan spell at Nottingham Forest, but the Englishman could then depart on a permanent basis ahead of next season.
