Juan Mata 'happy to remain at Manchester United under Jose Mourinho'

Juan Mata still reportedly has a role to play under Jose Mourinho, despite being hauled off in the Community Shield, and will therefore remain at Manchester United.

Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata will not look to move away from Old Trafford this summer, according to a report.

The Spain international was hauled off just 27 minutes after coming on in Sunday's Community Shield victory over Leicester City at Wembley Stadium.

Mata's reaction when being replaced by Henrikh Mkhitaryan late on led to further talk of a departure from United, having previously been sold by manager Jose Mourinho during his time at Chelsea in 2014.

Sky Sports News claims that the 28-year-old could still have a role to play under Mourinho this coming season, however, and will therefore stay at the club for at least another year.

The same report suggests that Bastian Schweinsteiger's exit is edging closer, meanwhile, as a number of interested parties have come forward to sign the out-of-favour midfielder.

United have brought in four new players this summer, including the capture of Paul Pogba from Juventus this week for around £89m - a world-record sum.
