Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong as a replacement for Paul Pogba.
The Red Devils are yet to agree a new contract with Pogba, 28, who will see his current deal expire next summer, meaning the Frenchman is at risk of leaving Old Trafford for free.
De Jong, meanwhile, has recently been linked with a move away from Camp Nou, with the Catalan club believed to have placed a £75m price tag on the Dutchman, which has alerted a number of Premier League clubs.
According to the Daily Mail, Man United are prepared to join rivals Manchester City and Liverpool in the race to sign the 24-year-old, who could be available in the January transfer window.
It has previously been reported that City have made an official €90m (£75m) bid for De Jong, while Liverpool will consider stepping up their interest in the midfielder in the winter window, as they continue their search to replace Georginio Wijnaldum.
De Jong, who is tied down at Camp Nou until June 2026, has made 107 appearances across all competitions for Barcelona since joining from Ajax in July 2019, scoring nine goals and providing 14 assists.
