Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund reportedly met on Friday afternoon to discuss a possible swap deal involving Jadon Sancho and Donyell Malen during the January transfer window.
Sancho's career at Man United appears to be finished, with the England international not featuring for the club since the end of August due to his fall-out with head coach Erik ten Hag.
There have recently been suggestions that the 23-year-old's career at Old Trafford could be revived by incoming minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
However, the relationship between Sancho and Ten Hag seems to be beyond repair, and the ex-Manchester City youngster is widely expected to leave the club during the January market.
Juventus have been heavily linked with the Englishman in recent weeks, but there have also been claims that Dortmund would be interested in re-signing him for the right price.

There has also been speculation surrounding Malen's future, with Man United said to have an interest in the Netherlands international ahead of the January market.
According to German journalist Christian Falk, Man United and Dortmund met on Friday to discuss the possibility of a swap deal for the two players.
Falk claims that Dortmund told the Red Devils that Malen's price is €30m (£25.8m), with a separate deal potentially being agreed, but the English outfit have also been told that a swap including Sancho would be accepted.
Sancho played the best football of his career at Dortmund, representing the Bundesliga giants on 137 occasions in all competitions, scoring 50 goals and registering 64 assists in the process.

Malen, meanwhile, has been a regular for BVB during the 2023-24 campaign, making 19 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals and registering two assists in the process.
The Netherlands international made the move to the German club from PSV Eindhoven in July 2021, and he has represented them on 92 occasions, scoring 24 goals and registering 16 assists.
Malen, 24, largely features as a right-sided attacker, but he is also capable of operating on the left and through the middle, making him a potentially attractive acquisition for Man United.
Four of the attacker's goals this season have come in the Bundesliga, while he has featured in four of his side's five games in the Champions League, with BVB through to the knockout round.
Liverpool are also believed to be admirers of the Dutchman, but Sancho's presence at Old Trafford has seemingly made Man United the favourites for his signature.
