Manchester United will reportedly reignite their interest in Aston Villa's Jack Grealish if Paul Pogba heads for the Old Trafford exit door.
Pogba has struggled to nail down a regular spot in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's starting lineup recently, with France manager Didier Deschamps claiming that the midfielder "cannot be happy" with his situation at United.
The World Cup-winning Frenchman has started to be linked with moves away from Manchester again, with Real Madrid believed to be ready to pursue Pogba's signature in 2021.
As a result, the Manchester Evening News speculates that United chiefs could turn to Grealish as a marquee signing next summer if Pogba does indeed leave, with the Villa captain recently extending his deal with Dean Smith's side until 2025 despite interest from the Red Devils.
However, Villa were understood to be holding out for a fee of £80m for their most prized asset during the most recent transfer window, and their stance is unlikely to change given Grealish's performances so far this season.
The 25-year-old has already bagged four goals and five assists for Smith's side in the 2020-21 Premier League campaign, with Grealish setting up Ollie Watkins for his second and Villa's third against Arsenal at the weekend.
