Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing teenager Charlie McNeill, who has rejected a professional contract at Manchester City.

Manchester United are allegedly attempting to secure a deal for Manchester City youth player Charlie McNeill.

Despite netting in excess of 600 goals in the youth ranks at the Etihad Stadium, the 16-year-old has rejected the opportunity to pen professional terms.

Although a compensation fee will be required if he moves elsewhere, the Daily Mail claims that United are interested in the teenager.

While a seven-figure fee has been mentioned, it is suggested that the two clubs are yet to agree a compromise over the sum which will be paid to City.

McNeill, who does not turn 17 until September, is a boyhood United fan, increasing the likelihood of a transfer to Old Trafford.
