Manchester United have reportedly offered Sunderland teenager Joe Hugill a £1,200-a-week contract as they bid to secure his signature.
The 16-year-old is yet to make his first-team debut for the Black Cats but has been in impressive form for the club's Under-18 and Under-23 teams during the 2019-20 campaign.
A host of clubs are believed to be interested in signing the youngster, but United are allegedly at the head of the queue, having agreed an initial £250,000 fee with Sunderland.
According to the Daily Star, the Red Devils have now offered Hugill a contract worth £1,200-a-week, which will officially start in October when he turns 17 years old.
The striker, who stands at 6ft 2in, scored a brace on his Premier League 2 debut against West Ham United's Under-23 side at the start of February.
Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Leeds United are also believed to be admirers.
