Napoli reportedly remain interested in signing Real Madrid forward James Rodriguez before the end of the summer transfer window.
Given their desire to raise funds and reduce their wage bill, Real are keen to part ways with the Colombia international in the coming weeks.
There has been talk of a switch to city rivals Atletico Madrid, while the playmaker has allegedly been offered to Manchester United.
However, AS claims that Napoli still consider themselves to be in the race for the 28-year-old, with former Real boss Carlo Ancelotti pushing for a reunion with the attacker.
Napoli are said to be confident of getting a deal over the line, partly due to Real not wanting to strengthen one of their title challengers.
The report adds that the Serie A outfit will make another push for Rodriguez later in August.
