Chelsea have reportedly progressed in their attempts to sign Atletico Madrid forward Diego Costa.
The 25-year-old is widely regarded as one of the best forwards in European football, with his performances over the last 12 months drawing a host of outside interest.
According to Goal.com, Chelsea have already held meetings with the Spanish international's representatives, while talks are expected to continue next week.
Costa, who has scored 31 times in 41 games for his club this season, is believed to be valued in the region of £30m, but his buy-out clause is understood to be slightly more.
Arsenal and Manchester United have also been linked with a move for the powerful striker.
