Manchester United reportedly want to bring Gerard Pique back to Old Trafford this month.
The Spanish international re-joined Barcelona from Manchester United in 2008 and has enjoyed a trophy-laden career with his hometown club.
The centre-back has not been without his problems this season, however, amid talk of a strained relationship with head coach Luis Enrique.
Pique has worked his way back into favour in recent months, but it is understood that the defender's future is far from secure.
According to The Express, United are ready to test the water with a £15m offer, but Barca reportedly value Pique at almost double that fee.
United have also been linked with moves for Valencia defender Nicolas Otamendi and Villarreal's Gabriel Paulista.
However, long-term target Mats Hummels is not expected to leave Borussia Dortmund this month.
