Barcelona boss Xavi has opened the door to Ousmane Dembele remaining at Camp Nou, claiming that the decision to sign a new contract at the club "depends on him".
The Catalan giants attempted to sell the France international in January after he refused to sign a new contract, but the deadline passed with the attacker still at Camp Nou.
The 24-year-old, who only has a deal with Barcelona until the end of June, has recently been brought back into the fold by Xavi, featuring in his side's last two league matches.
Xavi has said that the Frenchman could still commit his future to the club despite suggestions that he has already decided to seek pastures new ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.
"Ousmane's contract ends in June and we'll see what happens. The decision to renew depends on him, but to me he's a player I like. I heard a lot of fake stories about him - it's the opposite. He's been a great professional, trust me," Xavi told reporters.
Dembele, who continues to be linked with Manchester United and Juventus, has scored once and provided three assists in 14 appearances for Barcelona during the current season.
