Zenit St Petersburg are said to be close to securing the services of Manchester United's Dimitar Berbatov.
The Russian club are willing to meet the striker's wage demands of £110,000 per week, and are hoping to close the deal within a fortnight, according to The Metro.
Berbatov had already been told that he can leave Old Trafford this summer, and the imminent arrival of Robin van Persie will drop him further down the pecking order.
Numerous clubs, including Queens Park Rangers, AC Milan and Galatasaray, have been liked with the 31-year-old in recent months, but his wages are thought to have deterred the chasing pack.
Berbatov joined United from Tottenham Hotspur in 2008 in a deal worth £30m.
