Peterborough United vow to ban "idiots"

Peterborough United owner Daragh MacAnthony vows to ban the "idiots" involved in damaging Leyton Orient's stadium on Saturday.

Peterborough United owner Darragh MacAnthony has vowed to ban the "idiots" responsible for vandalising the Matchroom Stadium following the 1-0 win over Leyton Orient.

A number of seats are reported to have been damaged in the away end during Saturday's League One fixture.

McAnthony took to Twitter to state that the culprits will be handed life-long bans from London Road upon being identified for "tarnishing the club's image".

He wrote: "As promised, we have worked with Leyton Orient on the damage caused by a few idiots on Saturday, and I will cover cost of repairs.

"I of course apologise on behalf of my club, and we are currently working to identify those responsible so they can be prosecuted for criminal damage and banned from coming to games again for tarnishing the club's image."

United's next home fixture is on Friday when Walsall come to town.
