Steve Coppell has said that he is looking forward to working as Portsmouth's new director of football.
The 58-year-old joined the League Two outfit on Monday alongside new manager Richie Barker, with whom Coppell worked at Crawley Town.
The former Reading boss has admitted his intrigue at the fact that the club is owned by the Portsmouth Supporters' Trust.
"It's going to be a real exciting and interesting journey," the Portsmouth News quotes Coppell as saying.
"I'm fascinated by the concept of the supporters owning the football club.
"In an age when you see so many outsiders, if I can call them that, owning football clubs, I think it's terrific to see supporters first and foremost caring about the club to save it and then trying to progress it forward into the future to compete against so many benevolent millionaires, who look after other clubs."
Portsmouth currently sit 17th in the table.
