Laurent Blanc "very happy" with Paris Saint-Germain display

Laurent Blanc claims that Chelsea "hardly existed in an attacking sense" in last night's Champions League last-16 tie against his Paris Saint-Germain side.

Paris Saint-Germain manager Laurent Blanc has conceded that Chelsea have a "slight advantage" going into the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie, but has refused to rule out a place in the next round.

The Parisians will travel to West London with a 1-1 draw after Edinson Cavani's second-half strike cancelled out Branislav Ivanovic's earlier header at the Parc des Princes.

Blanc was quick to find signs of encouragement from the first-leg meeting, claiming that his side can go one better than last year and pick up the required result at Stamford Bridge to progress.

"The score is not favourable to us, but I'm very happy with my team," he told reporters. "There are lots of very satisfying things but the score is what counts at the end so the return match will be complicated.

"I think Chelsea hardly existed in an attacking sense. Their only shot on target unfortunately for us was the goal we conceded but after that we gave them practically nothing. We were up against a great goalkeeper as well, let's not forget. The result could have been better but the match was very good.

"Chelsea have a slight advantage, especially because they are at home. With our attacking qualities we are capable of scoring practically anywhere in Europe. We didn't do it last year but have to this time."

The sides played out a 3-3 aggregate draw last season, with Chelsea advancing on away goals.
