Laurent Blanc happy but wants more Paris Saint-Germain goals

Laurent Blanc says that Paris Saint-Germain need to score more goals to improve on an already satisfying campaign.

Laurent Blanc is satisfied with Paris Saint-Germain's start to the season but feels that they can still improve in the goals department.

Following a slow start to the campaign, Les Parisiens currently sit second in Ligue 1 and only trail rivals AS Monaco on goal difference.

However, Blanc believes that PSG are beginning to show their more clinical side following recent wins, including a 3-0 triumph over Benfica in the Champions League.

"It's a good start to the season, but we'd prepared for that," Blanc told his club's official TV channel. "Our preparation in Austria and Sweden went very well, even if the opening friendlies weren't very good. But if the team was tired, it was because they had also worked well.

"With two draws to start with, you could say the opening to the league campaign was also complicated, but you got the feeling that the team was getting physically stronger, and that was confirmed by what happened afterwards. Now we're not only winning our games, but also trying to play good football. And I like that, because it corresponds to how I perceive football.

"We still have to handle our good moments better, put away our chances more often," said Blanc, whose squad have found the net 14 times in their nine league games to date. "We can still score more goals, just as we did against Benfica."

PSG face Bastia in Ligue 1 this weekend.
