Brian McDermott refuses to get carried away after Reading's second win of the season.

Reading manager Brian McDermott has admitted that he is only looking towards the next game after his side picked up their second win of the season at home to West Ham United.

A solitary goal from Pavel Pogrebnyak was enough to move Reading to within five points of Aston Villa in 17th, but McDermott refused to get carried away.

"We had the 0-0 with Swansea, the performance at Man City and the performance again today and another three points," The Mirror quotes McDermott as saying.

"That is four points from three games and gives us something to build on.

"Last year was a miracle to win the Championship title, I don't know how many points we are behind, but all I know is that we have got to try and win the next game."

Reading travel to Tottenham Hotspur on New Year's Day.
