How Real Madrid could line up against Barcelona

Sports Mole looks at how Real Madrid could line up in Saturday night's El Clasico with Barcelona.

Real Madrid will be looking to bounce back from Wednesday's 3-0 loss to Barcelona in the second leg of their Copa del Rey semi-final when the pair meet in La Liga at the Bernabeu on Saturday night.

Luis Suarez scored twice for Barca in the second half of the last-four clash, while Raphael Varane put one into the back of his own net to make it a miserable night for Los Blancos.

Santiago Solari's side are currently third in La Liga, some nine points off leaders Barca ahead of this weekend's El Clasico.

Worryingly, Madrid have not actually won a home Clasico in the league since October 2014, while they were thumped 5-1 at Camp Nou in the reverse match earlier this season.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at how the Spanish giants could line up in their second match against Barca in the space of three days.

Out: Marcos Llorente (muscle), Nacho (suspended)

Thibaut Courtois will be back between the sticks for Madrid, having dropped out of the side on Wednesday for Keylor Navas. Midfielder Marcos Llorente is not expected to take part, though, as he continues to recover from a muscular problem.

Varane suffered a nasty cut to his knee when he scored the own goal on Wednesday night, but the Frenchman should be fit to line up alongside Sergio Ramos in central defence, with Nacho suspended following his red card against Levante last weekend.

It seems likely that Solari will make changes from the recent Clasico, though, with Gareth Bale and Marco Asensio pushing for starts in the forward positions. Bale came off the bench to score the winner against Levante last time out, but is cutting a frustrated figure at the moment.

Dani Ceballos and Marcelo, meanwhile, are among those who will be pushing for minutes having been left on the bench on Wednesday night, with Toni Kroos and Sergio Reguilon potentially being rested.
