Kylian Mbappe will allegedly not travel with the Real Madrid squad to the United States for their pre-season tour.

Kylian Mbappe will reportedly not travel with the Real Madrid squad to the United States for their pre-season tour, with the forward set to be given extra time off following his involvement in Euro 2024.

The France captain was officially presented as a Real Madrid player earlier this week, having made the move to Bernabeu on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract at Paris Saint-Germain.

There have been claims that the 25-year-old would be a part of the Los Blancos squad that will head to the United States later this month for a pre-season tour.

However, according to The Athletic, it has been decided that Mbappe will have extra time off this summer, so he will not feature for his new club against either AC Milan, Barcelona or Chelsea.

As a result, Real Madrid fans will have to wait until the UEFA Super Cup against Atalanta BC on August 14 for the attacker to potentially make his debut for his new club.

Mbappe had a difficult Euro 2024

Mbappe had been tipped to lead France to Euro 2024 success this summer, but it turned out to be an incredibly frustrating tournament for the forward.

Indeed, he broke his nose in his side's opening match of the competition against Austria, and his performances were clearly impacted by the mask that he was required to wear.

Mbappe ended the competition with one goal and two assists, as France reached the semi-finals, losing 2-1 to the eventual winner Spain on July 9.

The forward entered the European Championship off the back of scoring 44 goals and registering 10 assists in 48 appearances for PSG during the 2023-24 campaign.

Mbappe's Real Madrid debut likely to come against Atalanta

During his official unveiling, Mbappe said that he was more than prepared to travel with Los Blancos to the United States but left the decision up to the club.

"If the club wants me to go, I will go," he said.

However, it is understood that the forward will now have a rest period until the beginning of August, when he will officially begin pre-season training with his new teammates.

Mbappe's La Liga debut is expected to occur against Mallorca on August 18, while Real Madrid will also face Real Valladolid and Las Palmas in the league before the end of next month.

The Frenchman has been handed the number nine shirt at Bernabeu, and he is expected to largely operate through the middle for Carlo Ancelotti's side, with Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo featuring in the wide areas.
