Real Madrid staged a media blackout after their 5-1 win against Real Sociedad last night.
Madrid re-opened the five-point gap between themselves and Barcelona in emphatic fashion, but refused to speak to the media following the controversial 1-1 draw with Villareal in midweek.
Jose Mourinho and assistant manager Aitor Karanka remained silent on the matter, but club director Emilio Butragueno eventually released a statement.
"It was a good choice to say nothing after Villarreal, which was a strange game," he said. "We have said nothing about the referees and we hope that in the nine games left there are no mistakes."
Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo's two goals in last night's win made him the fastest player in La Liga history to reach 100 goals.
