Gerardo Martino criticises Gareth Bale fee

Barcelona boss Gerardo Martino criticises the reported transfer fee that Real Madrid are paying for Gareth Bale.

Barcelona manager Gerardo Martino has criticised the reported transfer fee for Gareth Bale.

The Tottenham Hotspur winger is expected to make his move to Real Madrid in the near future for a reported fee of €100m (£85.8m).

Martino though, feels that the fee shows a lack of respect to the current global economic situation.

"How I feel about Madrid signing Bale for about €100m?" said Martino. "He is an excellent player, but the fee that's being mentioned shows a lack of respect to the world we live in."

The current world record transfer fee is the £80m that Madrid paid Manchester United for Cristiano Ronaldo in 2009.
