Martin Odegaard 'happy at Real Madrid'

Real Madrid teenager Martin Odegaard hints that he does not want to play Segunda B football for Real Madrid Castilla next season.

Real Madrid teenager Martin Odegaard has said that he is "happy" with the Spanish giants amid speculation that he could leave the Bernabeu on loan this summer.

The 16-year-old, who moved to Spain from Norwegian football in January, has spent much of his Real Madrid career thus far playing for their Castilla side.

The midfielder has been involved in the first-team preparations for the new campaign, but it is currently unclear whether he will be promoted under new boss Rafael Benitez.

Odegaard has hinted that he does not want to play Segunda B football next season, but has said that he is happy to fight for his place rather than depart on loan.

"The Segunda B is a tough league, with a lot of complicated opponents and pitches that are often very poor. We'll see about the future when pre-season finishes. I'm happy at Madrid," Marca has quoted the Norway international as saying.

Real Madrid begin their La Liga campaign away to Sporting Gijon on August 23.
