Scotland record another disappointing result at Hampden Park, with Macedonia holding the hosts to a 1-1 draw.

Scotland have been held to a second successive home draw, with Macedonia earning a point at Hampden Park on Tuesday evening.

The hosts were behind in the 11th minute, after a teasing cross from Ivan Trickovski was met superbly by Nikolce Noveski inside the area to give Macedonia the lead.

Macedonia continued to apply pressure after the early goal, with Allan McGregor being forced into a superb save to deny Agim Ibraimi.

Andy Webster should have pulled a goal back for Scotland but the defender saw his header land just wide of the post.

It was Kenny Miller who managed to find the equaliser on the stroke of half-time, with the striker applying a simple finsish after a good run from Jamie Mackie.

Both sides pushed for a goal in the opening minutes of the second half and Ferhan Hasani was only a few inches from putting Macedonia ahead as he rattled the post with a fierce effort.

Jordan Rhodes was introduced to the game by Craig Levein midway through the second period and the change almost had an immediate impact when the striker headed the ball wide of the target from close range.

Goran Pandev was a threat to the Scottish defence throughout the match and the forward's clever pass provided a brilliant chance for Mirko Ivanovski but he failed to provide a finish with McGregor once again pushing the ball to safety.

Macedonia looked comfortable in possession in the closing stages and despite plenty of intent from Scotland, the hosts were forced to settle for a draw.
