Rickie Lambert will play as a lone striker for Southampton against Everton this evening.

Rickie Lambert has been selected as a lone centre-forward by Mauricio Pochettino for his first match in charge of Southampton against Everton this evening.

Gaston Ramirez will play in an advanced midfield role to support Lambert, with Jason Puncheon also being given a slot on the left wing.

Visiting Everton will also start the encounter with one striker, which will be Nikica Jelavic.

Meanwhile, Phil Neville will captain the side on what is his 36th birthday.
