Tottenham Hotspur announce that Oliver Skipp is set to miss the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery on a groin injury.

Tottenham Hotspur have announced that Oliver Skipp will miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery on a groin injury.

The 21-year-old became a regular starter for the North London club when Nuno Espirito Santo took charge and has also earned the praise of Antonio Conte since the Italian's arrival.

However, Skipp has missed Tottenham's last 13 Premier League games due to injury and infection, and the club have now revealed that the England Under-21 international has joined their long-term absentee list.

A statement on tottenhamhotspur.com read: "We can confirm that Oliver Skipp has undergone surgery in America this morning (Tuesday 26 April) to repair a pubis injury and will be out for the remainder of the season.

"The Academy graduate, 21, will now undergo a period of recovery and is expected to return to training for the pre-season period."

Skipp therefore ends the 2021-22 season having made 28 appearances for Tottenham in all competitions, and he recently signed a new deal with Conte's side until the summer of 2027.

Skipp is now the third Tottenham player to have been ruled out for the rest of the season, with Japhet Tanganga and Matt Doherty also on the sidelines for the long-term.
