Former Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers is allegedly very keen on becoming the next manager of Tottenham Hotspur.

Brendan Rodgers is reportedly keen to become the next manager of Tottenham Hotspur.

Earlier this month, Leicester City made the decision to sack the Northern Irishman, a consequence of the Foxes sitting in the Premier League relegation zone.

Rodgers's reign came to an end with five defeats from his final six top-flight fixtures in charge, although that should not overshadow an otherwise strong spell at the King Power Stadium.

As well as winning 92 of his 204 matches in charge of the East Midlands outfit, Rodgers lifted the 2021 FA Cup and guided Leicester to two fifth-placed finishes in the Premier League.

His final campaign at Leicester was hindered by the club's financial issues, Rodgers prevented from significantly refreshing his squad in the summer.

While the 50-year-old is now taking a break from the dugout, he acknowledged soon after his departure from Leicester that he was awaiting 'his next challenge'.

According to Football Insider, Rodgers would like that opportunity to come at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, starting from the summer.

Although Cristian Stellini currently holds the reins on a temporary basis, Spurs are in the market for a long-term replacement for Antonio Conte.

The North London outfit have been linked with a number of managers currently in and out of work, but a clear favourite is yet to emerge from the pack.

Earlier this week, it was suggested that Spurs plan to make an approach for Vincent Kompany, who has just earned promotion to the top flight with Burnley.

Julian Nagelsmann, Mauricio Pochettino, Graham Potter and Arne Slot has also been linked with a potential switch to the club since Conte's departure last month.

Nevertheless, the report claims that Rodgers is likely to be interviewed for the job over the coming weeks with chairman Daniel Levy having previously been an admirer.

Rodgers is no stranger to being in charge of a high-profile club after his respective spells with Liverpool and Celtic.
