Chris Ramsey: 'Mauricio Pochettino has done well to bring youngsters in'

Queens Park Rangers manager Chris Ramsey believes that Mauricio Pochettino has made a name for himself by giving youngsters the chance to play for Tottenham Hotspur.

Queens Park Rangers manager Chris Ramsey has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur counterpart Mauricio Pochettino has made a name for himself with regards to giving young players the chance to play for the club.

The Spurs boss has picked homegrown English striker Harry Kane ahead of Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor for Saturday afternoon's Premier League clash at Loftus Road.

Former Spurs coach Ramsey told BBC Sport: "[Pochettino] has enhanced his reputation for dealing with young players.

"It surprised me that someone's done it at a club so big as generally what happens is people come in and have to hit the ground running.

"English clubs should look to build from their academies, otherwise there is no point having academies and they just become extravagant youth clubs."

Kane has scored 24 goals so far for Spurs this campaign.
