Emmanuel Adebayor could be in line for a starting role against Manchester City on Sunday, reveals Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas.

Andre Villas-Boas has hinted that Emmanuel Adebayor may start for Tottenham Hotspur at Manchester City on Sunday afternoon.

The Togolese striker has struggled to cement a place in the Spurs lineup this season but Villas-Boas believes that there could be extra motivation for the 28-year-old against his former club.

"For sure we take that into account," said the Portuguese manager. "Revolt and motivation are always factors that I keep on speaking about but I'm still to make my decision on the starting XI."
