Newcastle United reportedly plot a move for Paris Saint-Germain striker Mauro Icardi, who is also wanted by Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus.

Newcastle United are reportedly ready to battle Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur for the signature of Paris Saint-Germain striker Mauro Icardi.

The 28-year-old has already struck three goals in the 2021-22 Ligue 1 season but has found it hard to displace Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe in the Parisiens' attack.

Icardi's contract at the Parc des Princes is due to run until the summer of 2024, but the striker is being tipped to head elsewhere next year should his playing situation not improve.

Juventus and Tottenham have both credited with an interest in Icardi as they look to bolster their attacking options, but according to Calciomercato, Newcastle are also in the race.

The Magpies are expected to splash the cash following their Saudi-backed takeover going through, with Kalidou Koulibaly and Philippe Coutinho also linked with moves to the North East.

Icardi has struck 36 goals in 72 games for PSG since initially arriving on loan from Inter Milan in the summer of 2019.
