Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has accepted that not all of the club's supporters will be behind him during the 2013-14 season.
The Welshman, who was sacked by Queens Park Rangers last season, took over at the helm of the Britannia earlier this summer after the club parted company with former boss Tony Pulis.
"Every manager, when they come into a new environment and a new club, will have doubters, people that maybe don't take to you initially," BBC Sport quotes Hughes as saying. "It is up to you to win people over.
"You will always have people that, for whatever reason, don't like the way you look or don't like the colour of your hair. There is not a lot you can do about that, it happens."
Hughes's first Premier League game in charge of Stoke is against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.
