Cardiff City have joined Sunderland in lodging a bid for Argentina forward Ignacio Scocco, according to the player's father.
Sunderland have been tracking Scocco for the best part of a year, but the 28-year-old is believed to have rejected a move to the Stadium of Light last summer.
However, his situation has now changed. He is unsettled at current club Internacional and his father believes that a move to the Premier League could still be on the cards.
Hector Scocco told Radio Gaucha: "It's not that Scocco doesn't like Brazilian football, his problem is that he didn't have motivation to keep playing for Internacional, nothing else. The problem is with Internacional, not with the Brazilian clubs."
On interest from the Premier League, he added: "The latest news I have is what we all know, there were offers from England, from Sunderland and Cardiff City."
Scocco can operate either as a winger or in a central striking position.
