Cedric Bakambu has confirmed that he is leaving Villarreal to move to the Chinese Super League.
Bakambu, who has recently been linked with Tottenham Hotspur, has scored nine times in 15 La Liga appearances for the Yellow Submarine during the 2017-18 campaign.
However, the 26-year-old is now moving on to Beijing Guoan for a figure in the region of £35m.
"I've already said goodbye to my teammates," Bakambu told Diario AS. "I'm hoping that everything will definitely be resolved between the two clubs as that is all that is left before the move is processed.
"Things change very fast in football, but I've had this offer for a long time and I did not want to say anything to anyone. I'm happy but at the same time I am also sad... a little bit of both, but, this is the life of a player and these moves and opportunities come up.
"I know this is an opportunity that will change my life but it is not easy to make a decision, I have talked a lot with my family and in the end we made this decision, which I think is the best."
Bakambu has also netted three times in five Europa League appearances for Villarreal this season.
