Free agent Mohamed Sissoko has admitted that he is keen to secure a return to the Premier League after beginning a trial with West Bromwich Albion.
The former Liverpool midfielder played 60 minutes during a friendly with Delhi Dynamos on Saturday afternoon, and he feels that he could still perform in English football's top tier after making 51 appearances for the Merseyside giants between 2005 and 2008.
The 31-year-old is quoted by the Express & Star as saying: "I feel good. I was really happy to play for 60 minutes at The Hawthorns and I am confident I can do well here.
"It's been a long time since I left England. I'll be here with West Brom this week and we'll see what happens after that. The manager has told me just to come and enjoy it and then we'll sit down and talk about my future.
"But I'm really happy to back with a club in one of the best leagues in the world and I hope I can stay here. I have a lot of good memories from my time at Liverpool."
Sissoko was last contracted to Shanghai Shenhua, with his most recent experience of European football coming during a spell with Levante during the 2014-15 campaign.
