Norwich City have failed to bring Ricardo Vaz Te to the club on loan from West Ham United.
The Canaries were preparing a bid earlier in the day to sign the forward for the season, according to reports.
Norwich's interest only became clear on Monday, despite West Ham manager Sam Allardyce revealing that Vaz Te had handed in a transfer request on Friday.
The deal reportedly broke down due to West Ham being unwilling to let the 26-year-old leave on loan, with the club preferring to secure a permanent transfer.
Vaz Te could still join a Championship club on a temporary deal before the Football League's loan deadline passes.
