Wolfsburg midfielder Makoto Hasebe has revealed that he wants to extend his current contract with the German club.
The 29-year-old, who will become a free agent at the end of next season, joined the Bundesliga outfit from Urawa Red Diamonds in January 2008.
"It's been really good, to be honest," he told Bundesliga.com when asked about his time in the German first division.
"But I've only scored five goals in that time, and again that isn't enough. I have one more year on my contract here, but I can definitely see myself extending my stay at VfL Wolfsburg."
Hasebe has scored two goals in 63 appearances for Japan at international level.
