Caterham have announced that Kamui Kobayashi will race for the financially-stricken team in the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix this weekend.
The Oxfordshire-based team were successful in their crowdfunding campaign, which asked fans to donate £2.35m.
The team will now compete in the final race of the Formula 1 calendar after missing Grands Prix in Austin, Texas and Brazil.
"I am happy to be racing with the team in Abu Dhabi," said Kobayashi. "It hasn't been an easy last few weeks, so it will be nice to be back to in the car and work together with the Caterham F1 team members. I would like to thank the fans for supporting the team like they have. This team is working hard and never gives up."
Caterham, who plunged into administration last month, have revealed that they will confirm their second driver in "due course".
