Maurizio Arrivabene: 'Sebastian Vettel stabilising Ferrari'

Maurizio Arrivabene says that Sebastian Vettel is "helping to stabilise" Ferrari behind the scenes.

Ferrari boss Maurizio Arrivabene has suggested that Sebastian Vettel has had a calming effect on the team behind the scenes since joining over the winter.

The German, who finished second at the Italian Grand Prix on Sunday, has picked up two race wins in his first season with the Scuderia, while teammate Kimi Raikkonen is yet to register a victory in 2015.

However, Arrivabene has claimed that, regardless of his performances, Vettel's demeanour is having a galvanising effect on the whole team.

He told Motorsport: "The team is getting on very well together. He brought to the team a lot of enthusiasm.

"Many times he has helped me to make sure that we are getting together and, most importantly, he is co-operating very well with his teammate. This is the reason why, when I was explaining of the confirmation of Kimi that we are looking at the moment of the stability of the team.

"Seb is a fantastic champion but is also a person who is helping to stabilise the team together with Kimi and is helping a lot for all of us to do that together. You saw after the race. You look at Seb. He is always smiling and positive and then I become a bit more flexible when I have to complain."

Ferrari are currently second in the constructors' championship.
